What is MS Word. What is word processor; write a note on word in detail

Microsoft Word is application level word processor software. This is packaged software, specially designed for general use for all the users of computer. Almost in every office in the world where computer is in use word processor is used. This software is used to make our notes, letters, books, applications, newspaper and many other purposes in office and home. it is very user friendly and provides lots of features for inserting many built-in functions to make our text documents more effective and prominent.

             It has menu bar. Menu bar has several menus like file, edit, insert, tools, view, help. Each menu is set of choices. These choices give us many facilities for inserting pictures, graphs, lines, squares, triangle etc, many artistic shapes from clip art. We can use mail merge option from the menu to print addresses of desired persons on envelopes. We can insert tables in our document and can properly manage our data in the form of rows and columns. Each menu provides us full commands relating with the menu. It also has tool bar equipped with all the standard tools that calls standard tool bar. Standard tool bar has most commonly used tools like new file, open file, save, print, print preview, cut, copy, paste, undo, redo commands. It also has drawing tool bar that has features relating with drawing an image, auto shapes and artistic shapes. It also provides us the facility to insert organizational charts. Charts represent our data in the form of picture or lines or bars in different colors. Word is used to insert symbols or special characters. it has the facility of equation editor to insert complex mathematical equations easily.

             It has formatting tool bar used to format our textual data. we use some tool bar commands like B for bold, I for Italic, U for underline, left, right, center and justified buttons to align our text accordingly. It has fonts in different styles. We can select font style from the drop down list of different styles. These styles are Times New Roman, Courier, Arial, Arial Black, Garamond, Monotype Corsiva and many more. It has Font size drop down list.

          We can change the size of our font selecting from the given tool bar. Word provides us the facility to color our text differently. We can make our documents on multiple pages. We can insert page numbers on top or bottom any where we want. Word has ruler on its top,down, right and left side of the document to set the margins of the document. it also has a status bar. on upper side of the status bar there are drawing tools loaded to facilitate us. Different short cut commands are available for our facility. we use ctrl+c to copy text, ctrl+v to paste at any location in the file. ctrl+n is used to create new file, ctrl+o is used to open any file, ctrl+p is used to print file, ctrl+] is used to increase the font size and ctrl+[ is used to decrease the font size. shift+f3 key is used to change the lower case text to upper and other. ctrl+j is used to justified the text alignment. it also has some mathematical functions like sum, average, count etc.

        MS Excel is an application level very smart for calculation purposes software. This is package software. It is specially designed for general use for the users of computer. It is complete package for all financial, accounting, examination, sales, purchases, stock management purposes.

        It is very smart in efficient working. It has hundreds of financial, mathematical, accounting and so many other built in functions. We can insert several sheets in a work book of excel. Each sheet has combination of rows and columns. Each sheet has approximately 65535 rows and 255 columns. Columns are labeled with a,b,c and repeated again with aa,ab,ab etc. rows has row id as 1,2,3,4......65535. Each row and column is used to create cells in sheet.

            Each cell has unique address and cell is pointed by its address. Each cell is programmable and can be used for many types of calculations. This software is specially design for calculations and complex financial transactions. Excel is used to create invoices, bills, cashbook, ledgers, salary statements, expense statements, attendance sheets.

             We can calculate total of large number of values horizontally and vertically. we can arrange, sort all the values according to our requirement like student name wise, roll number wise, class wise, gender wise. We can filter data and can apply auto filter to retrieve only desired values from the given list from the whole data.

              We can easily import excel file into MS Access Database File and data will not change. We can protect our data and file with the help of password. it provides us lot of functions, sum(),count(),min(),max(),average(),sqrt(),abs(),sign(),mod(),fact(), if then else structure, range() and many more. We can also use conditional formatting, when any condition is true then the result will be formatted. we can also calculate sub total and grand total.
